Delicious Candy Mint Nails!

In today's tutorial I will be showing you how to get into the holiday spirit with a candy mint nail tutorial! This tutorial is extremely simple to achieve and you will only be needing two colors of nail polish; white and red. Shall we get started? 

First of all apply your base coat to protect the nail. I use Seche Vite Base Coat. Then once your base coat has dried, apply a white coat of nail polish. The polish I'm using is from Pure Ice in the color White.

Once you've applied the white polish on all your nails, take a red nail polish and apply a dot in the center of your nail. This will give you an idea on where you're going to start drawing the swirls.

As soon as you're done applying the dots, start making curved lines. It will start looking like a fan. Make six of those curved lines, and then shade a spot in, skip a spot, then shade the next. It should look like the picture on the right. Then repeat the process in each finger. 

The final result should look like the picture below! All you need to do to finalize your nails is apply a top coat! And you're ready to rock some delicious holiday candy mint nails!

Santa Claus is coming to... your Nails!!

Hello there girlies, today I want to show you a tutorial of Santa's belt. It's super simple plus it's super cute! Let's get started!

First, apply base coat. Then apply a red nail polish on your nails. This is going to be the background for the design. Any red nail polish will work perfectly fine! The nail polish I used is called Hot Red by Jordana. It is a really nice red because it has a very simple shimmer to it. 

As soon as all your nails are hot red, you will take a white nail polish and draw a straight line down the middle of each nail. Any white nail polish will do.   

Once all your nails have the white line, you will draw a square in the center with a black nail polish. I believe this will work best if you have a thin brush. It doesn't have to be a thin brush either, it can be something thin in order to make a square in the center. Once you've drawn the square, you will draw two straight lines on each side of the square. The black nail polish I used is from Salon Perfect. Your nails should look like the picture on the right.

As soon as the black polish dries, you will go over it with a yellow nail polish, but you will only go over the square.

You are almost done! Last but not least you will draw a little black line from the center to either side. This will be the little hook from the belt that goes into the little hole. 

As soon as you are done drawing the last little line, finally it's time to apply the top coat. Your final result should look like the picture below.

Candy Cane Nails!

Hello there sisters from other misters, today I want to share with you these quick and easy candy cane nails. Christmas is around the corner and we need to start getting our nails into that Christmas spirit! This tutorial is extremely easy. You don't have to know how to draw anything only lines! Let's get started!

First apply base coat as always. I apply Seche Vite base coat. Then you will apply a coat of white nail polish. The white polish I applied is from Pure Ice. You will do this to the rest of your nails.

Next, you will take a red nail polish, preferably a polish with a thin brush. All you will have to do is make a line from one corner to the other. You will then repeat this process several times in one nail and continue doing this to the rest of the nails. The red nail polish I used is from Salon Perfect and it has a thin brush.

Once you're done with all the lines, the final result should look like the picture below. Finally all you have to do is apply a top coat so they can last! Voila! You are done! Delicious nails in no time! Super quick and simple.

Holiday Reindeer Nails!

Hello there beautiful people! Today I will show you a very cute tutorial on some adorable reindeer nails! As you know Christmas is coming up and what better way to start getting into the Christmas spirit than with some holiday nail art. Let's get started!

First of all, apply your base coat. Always apply your base coat before you apply color nail polish, it is very important so it can protect your nail from harsh nail polish stains. As I've mentioned before I use Seche Vite base coat. Once you've applied your base coat go ahead and apply a white coat of nail polish. You will apply it on all of your nails. This is going to be the entire background of the nail. Any white nail polish will do. If not, you can substitute the white with any color of your choice. I'm using Pure Ice in White.

In the next step you're going to do a half moon on the tip of your nail. You will repeat the half moon on the rest of your nails. You will need a brown nail polish color. This will be the head of the reindeer. The color I'm using is by Sinful Color in the color Nirvana.

While the brown half moon is drying, you will then take a yellow nail polish and start to draw two yellow stick on top of the half moon. These will be the little antlers. The yellow nail polish I used is by Nail Art. I apply two coats because the color is very light if you apply only one coat. Your nails should start to look like the ones on the left picture. 

The next part of the process is very simple. You will then take the white nail polish again and draw two little dots next to each other. These will be the eyes. While they dry up, you will take a red nail polish and apply one big red dot on the edge of the nail. This will be the nose. 

Finally, you will then take a black nail polish and apply two tiny little dots in the center of the white dots. Viola, the eyes are complete! As soon as you're done, you will apply the top coat to make them last longer and give them an amazing shine. I use Seche Vite Top Coat. Your nails should look like the ones in the picture below.

Super Duper Quick 10 Minuet Nails!!

Quick, quick, quick! Here is a very simple and very stylish nail tutorial. It's a french tip, so it will never go out of style. And the best part about it is it only takes 10 minuets!! Yes, you read right, 10 minuets! So come on let's get started... 

In this tutorial you will not be applying a base coat. I don't apply one because we will be using Sally Hansen's Nail Art Pen in black, and if you apply a base coat the polish from the nail pen won't go on correctly, it will bead off the nail. So, for this tutorial you will not need to apply a base coat. 

You will take the art pen and start making a french tip on your nails. Super simple. You will then continue to do this on every single nail. 

Once you've completed the french tip on all your nails you are ready to apply the top coat. This will make them shinier and last longer. I use Seche Vite Top Coat and my nails can last up to a week without chipping. Once you've applied the top coat your nails should look like the picture below. 

If you don't like the color black, be free to substitute it with any color of your choice.

Turkey Nails!!

Hello beautiful people! Thanksgiving Day is approaching fast. Thanksgiving is the best holiday ever because we can eat, eat, eat all we want and it's the best food ever! Today I am going to show you very simple turkey day nails that you can do at home so you can rock during Thanksgiving! Here we go...

First apply your base coat. I use Seche Vite base coat. Then you apply a brown nail polish all over the nail and you're going to do this on all your nails. I applied one coat. The brown nail polish I used is from Zac & Zoe Naturals in the color Bronze Lady. I saw this nail polish randomly at a Payless.

Once your nails are dry, on your ring finger you will go ahead and draw little oval shapes sideways. These are going to be the feathers of a little turkey you're  going to do. You will draw a red, yellow and orange oval. You can use the nail polish with the thin brush used for nail art or even the regular nail polish with the big brush. The ovals don't have to be perfect because you will outline them later. Your nails should look like the picture on the left. 

While the little feathers are drying, you will take the orange nail polish and draw a straight line on the top edge of the rest of your fingers. It's going to look like a french tip. The orange I used is Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Extreme Wear in the color Sun Kissed. Once you have drawn the orange, go ahead and take the yellow nail polish and draw a thin line below the orange line, then do the same thing with the red nail polish, draw the line beneath the yellow line. The yellow color I used is from Art Deco, and the red color I used is from Salon Perfect. You can purchase both at Wal-Mart. Your nails should look like the picture on the right. 

So while those dry you will go back to your ring finger and draw a weird shaped little body. It doesn't have to be perfect, mine is not. To draw this body I used the big brush that comes in the nail polish. I didn't use any special nail art brush. The color I used for the turkey's little body is Nirvana by Sinful Colors. You can see that the body of my turkey is a little deformed. 


Once the body is on there already, you will take a white nail polish and draw two little tiny eyes. I used the tip of a comb for the eyes. The tip of the comb was thin and round so it worked perfectly! After you've applied the two white dots, apply two black dots in the center of the white dots. Those will be the eyes of the turkey.

You will also then draw a small orange upside down triangle, this will be the beak of the turkey. Then, you're going to take the red nail polish and draw a cloud-like shape, this will be the extra skin of the turkey. It will look like the picture above. 

After your turkey is done you will take the black nail polish and just outline all the feathers and it's little body and you will be done. It should look like the picture on the right. 
Finally, you will just add the top coat and you will be done!

Super Quick Fall Ombré Nails

Hello gals. I can't believe it's already Fall! I love what this season has to offer; cozy sweaters, tall boots, warm latte's and best of all awesome nail art. Today I'm going to show you a quick and simple nail tutorial on how to create really nice ombré nails. Here we go...

The first step is to apply a base coat on your nails. I apply Seche Vite base coat. 

After you've applied the base coat, you go ahead and apply the polish on your entire nail. The polish I will be using is Sinful Colors' Nirvana. As you can see it's a brown color perfect for Fall. I've applied two coats.      
                                                         
After the nail polish has dried grab a small sponge and do a streak of nail polish on the edge of it. The nail polish I'm using is a glitter gold by Nina Ultra Pro. A makeup sponge will work as well.

Once the nail polish is on the sponge, dab the top half of the nail until it gives it an ombré effect. The result should look like the picture below. 

Repeat the process on each finger. Once the polish dries, apply Milani glitter polish or any similar looking nail polish to your nails. This polish has bigger pieces of glitter and gives it an extra nice look. Your nails should look like the picture on the right. 

As soon as you're done applying the Milani polish, go ahead and apply the top coat. I use Seche Vite top coat and let me tell you that this stuff works great! My nails can last up to a week without chipping.

My Nail Care Routine

This tutorial is going to be about my daily nail care routine. It's extremely simple. I do this routine when I know my nails need a little breathing to do!
The basic tools I use are:

• Cotton balls
• Nail polish remover
• Nail file
• Nail clipper
• Cuticle clipper
• Cuticle remover
• Cuticle pusher
• Cuticle butter
• Nail strengthening polish      

These are just the general tools. I'll go into greater detail on the tools I use.

Step 1: Wet the cotton ball with the nail polish remover and gently remove the nail polish. In this tutorial I am using the No Odor nail polish remover.

Here are the nail polish removers I use. Both are from ONYX Professional and I purchased mine at Wal-Mart. The acetone on the left is 100% pure acetone and used when I'm in a hurry or to remove the tough messes (ex. glitter). The bad thing about it is it dries your nails really bad. The acetone on the right however, conditions and hydrates your nails and is a green odorless color. I use this one when I do my usual nail care routine. When using the green remover I usually wash my hands after because they become really oily.

Step 2: Once the nail polish is completely off, I apply the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover all around the cuticle and on the side edges of my nails. I let it sit for about a minuet so it can soften and melt all the excess cuticle.

Step 3: After the cuticle remover, I grab my cuticle pusher and from the center of the nail I start pushing back. By starting in the center of the nail it picks up and removes dead skin that accumulates on top of your nail plate. You continue to do this to the rest of your fingers. The orange cuticle pusher I'm using is from Sally Hansen. I bought mine at Wal-Mart.

Step 4: After my cuticle is pushed back I slowly start cutting it away. You only want to cut away the excess cuticle, you don't want to cut too much because the cuticle is very important. It keeps germs and infections from entering the matrix of the nail. The cuticle clipper I use is Sally Hansen as well.


Step 5: After I'm done with my cuticles, I either clip my nails or go straight to filing them. I do this because if my nails are already at a desired length I just go ahead and shape them. The nail file I'm using is called Pro File. I actually bought this one at a local beauty supply store here in Texas, but I believe any nail file will get the job done!

Step 6: Once my nails are completely the size and shape I want them to be, it's time to apply my nail treatment. I use Orly's Nailtrition. I really love and recommend this stuff. It works well because my nails are very weak and used to split very often. Once I started using this product, my nails became a lot stronger and the splitting occurred less and less. It is a 2 week treatment, but I apply it now and then whenever I do my nail care routine. I sometimes also use it as a base coat but very rarely. I purchased my Orly Nailtrition at Sally Beauty Supply store.

Step 7: As soon as the nail polish dries, I massage Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream on my cuticles and nails. I always carry the cuticle butter with me because I have very dry hands making my cuticles dry as well. It leaves them very soft and moist. I really love this stuff; plus it has a soft lemony scent which doesn't bother me at all. It's also 100% natural and nourishes weak nails.

Ta-Da! This is the result! My nail care routine is very quick and simple. Most of the products I use are inexpensive. The most expensive product is the Orly Nailtrition. It ranges from $9-$10 depending where you buy it.

Nails 101

My nails are very important to me because to me, nails are like an accessory that can compliment an outfit or simply make me feel good. Admit it ladies! Polished nails can give you an extra confidence boost!
Other than having my nails well polished, I like to keep them healthy. I don't always polish my nails because I like to let them breathe. The top layer of the nail is called the nail plate, and believe it or not, the tip of the nail is living tissue where oxygen penetrates to get to the nail bed. The nail bed is the second bottom layer in a nail. Also, nail polish has harsh chemicals which can dry the nails and make them less strong and less flexible. So on the bright side, not having your nails polished isn't always a bad thing.

Nails are also made up of keratin. What is keratin you may ask? Keratin is a fibrous protein forming the main structural constituent of hair. What? Yes! It's the same stuff hair is made of. So just like hair, nails need the same foods, nutrients, and care.
Did you know men's fingernails grow faster than women's nails. Nails grow on average of 3.5 millimeters per month. Toenails however, only grow 1.6 millimeters a month.
Nails can say a lot about you. Doctors can determine your overall health by just looking at your nails. Depending on the color of your nail bed, a doctor can determine life threatening-diseases. So with that being said, always pay attention to the color of your nails and if they're a funky color, hop onto the Internet and do some research!
